Our aim is to make a difference for our clients. We understand that, for the victims of medical negligence, including those who have suffered cauda equina syndrome, the issues are often sensitive. Our team of experienced and specialist lawyers want to understand what has gone wrong, the pain suffered, the impact on employment, social life and family together with the financial consequences.
Our Head of Medical Negligence (and one of our accredited specialists), Robbie Wilson, and our team have experience in Cauda Equina cases. We’ve investigated, litigated and settled claims for a number of clients over the years and have an ongoing caseload of cauda equina claims.
With offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow we help clients throughout Scotland and can meet clients wherever is most convenient for them.
We’ve been a Number One rated team in Scotland for over 30 years with the two independent directories (Legal 500 and Chambers). Our team includes two Law Society accredited specialists in medical negligence. We’re one of only two firms in Scotland with multiple accredited specialist.
Cauda Equina is a complex type of medical negligence. The symptoms needs to be clear enough that a failure to appreciate was a breach of duty (to establish liability) but not so severe that it was too late by that point to have improved the outcome (the causation hurdle). This means such cases need a lot of time, experience and skill to properly investigate and successfully recover compensation.

We advise on protecting client’s money (trusts), financial investment (we have our own Asset Management division) as well as property/land purchasing and other legal issues such as tax, wills and powers of attorney.
